AAMBC Inc. is on the verge of manifesting an innovative Black literary and creative arts haven and experience called Lit Diaries. The brick-and-mortar location will be in Atlanta, where creatives from many backgrounds already call home.

But what exactly is Lit Diaries and what will make this place unique?

Imagine going to a bookstore to purchase an autographed book by your favorite author and then being an audience member for an intimate conversation with the author. You get to ask questions, meet other creatives and share ideas. But unfortunately, that space does not exist.

Yet!

While there are places that cater to segments of the art world, such as music, books, or fashion, there are none that focus on literary arts. Likewise, there are no venues dedicated to the Literary Arts Entertainment industry. Lit Diaries will be the convergence.

With the popularity of television, film and countless streaming platforms to view, people tend to forget that Literature is the root of entertainment. Falling between the pages and entering a world beyond one’s own provides the same escape from reality as those mentioned above.

Lit Diaries will be a book lounge inside an event space that curates experiences and activates community-driven events that are literary and culturally infused, such as the recent Ebony of Arts soirée that celebrated Black Women authors for Women’s History Month. Other annual events that will take place are AAMBC Inc.’s Cre8tiveCon, Black Writer’s Weekend, and the AAMBC Inc. Literary Awards.

Writers will be able to perform, host book signings while personally connecting with their fanbase and be the headliners for workshops and masterclasses. The venue will also serve as a co-working space for creatives to collaborate and experience their stories and ignite conversations with like-minded individuals.

The creator and Founder of AAMBC Inc., Tamika Newhouse, developed the idea and brought in her friends, Curator Jessica Pessu and New York Times best-selling author Kimberly Jones. Together, they have been diligently working on manifesting her vision, which stretches far beyond the words on this page.
