Black Girl Magic is a term we have all seen written, hashtagged and proclaimed for nearly the last decade. First made viral via a Twitter hashtag by CaShawn Thompson in 2013, it has since empowered Black women and girls across the globe to love, glow and grow in their Blackness unapologetically.

Black women are constantly criticized for their melanin-shaded skin, demeanors, and how their hair NATURALLY grows; they are essentially criticized for their existence. Black Girl Magic is how Black women and girls can celebrate themselves and promote self-love by showing the world, “This is me, and what you see is pure magic, whether you like it or not.”

In honor of Women’s History Month, AAMBC Inc. felt it was necessary to uplift and celebrate Black women and their magical contribution to literary arts. Therefore, we have partnered with the Atlantucky Brewery, owned by the Southern Rap quartet, Nappy Roots, to showcase these phenomenal Black women and bring Ebony of Arts: A Fly Girl Mixer to you.

The featured Ebony’s to celebrate include:

Zane — Living Legend, Filmmaker & author of “addicted.”

Ni’Cola Mitchell — Producer & Philanthropist & author of “What Was I Supposed to Do.”

Tiffany D. Jackson — NY Times Best-selling author of “Grown” & “Allegedly.”

Kimberly Jones |Activist & NY Times Best-selling author of “How Can We Win.”

Park Cannon — Politician & author of “The Universal Guide to Running for Office.”

Plus, live art from visual artist Ryanna Kelly.

The event is hosted by actor Mike Bless, star of “Raising Dion” on Netflix and moderated by Christal Jordan, publicist and journalist at Rolling out. It is presented by Kimberly Jones, viral author and filmmaker, alongside Tamika Newhouse, the founder and Director at AAMBC Inc.

The event serves as a fundraising effort for the opening of Lit Diaries located in Atlanta. Enjoy live music, small bites, live art, a “Creative Row” of vendors and celebrity photographer, Steve West, will be in attendance to capture every Black Girl Magic moment.

Happening on Sunday, March 27, from 2 PM — 5 PM

Atlantucky Brewery, 170 Northside Dr. SW Atlanta, Ga 30313
